i just bought a 97' spx. it wont turn over at all. ive tried a new battery doesnt help any, all it does is make this loud click noise like the engine is trying to turn over but it cant. i took the pto cover off and tried to spin the shaft, i got it to turn about 1/4 of an inch with spark plugs out. tried to turn it over again with battery same as before so i sprayed wd-40 in each cylinder and let sit a day, didnt help any. so i took my starter off and got engine to turn over by turning the pto shaft. so my question is, is maybe my starter (guy who bought the ski from said he had put a new one on before letting the ski sit several months before selling) gears jamming into my flywheel gears and putting it into a bind? or is something else the problem?
