I haven't been able to find a solution, it's always been a little sluggish under load, tight cornering. Just put a skat trak 17/22 swirl on and this has magnified the bogging issue. Now I have to feather it to get the rpm high enough for the raves to open, once they do it takes off just like my 96 xp, just doesn't have much power low-mid rpm.

I've already double checked pop off, factory settings on screws.

Also check compression.

Have the carbs been rebuilt with new genuine Mikuni parts.

Raves are clean, had raves, hss, lss, and water regulator everywhere between here and the sun with minimal impact on the issue.

I think you have 2 issues,,,carburation/fuel delivery,,and,,That 17/22 prop maybe too tall for your hp,,,it is meant for a very modified motor,,as in LTD/superstock racing,,,i speak from experience,,,go back to your stock prop,,,

A little back story to my current situation.

I put a 16/23 concord on my 96 xp thinking it was stock replacement, this robbed some low range torque which made it ride about like the spx. After this I learned the xp came with a 17/25 while the spx came with a 16/23.

I went looking for a better holeshot option and a few different forums suggested the 17/22. Also put the stock impeller back in the xp,

I think next I'll try the 17/22 on the xp and the 17/25 on the spx.

Okay...i am speaking from many years of racing experience,,,800 cc LTD
,,,we were on race gas if course,,,that 17/22 cost us a seizure,,,and we thot we had carburation issues,,,with that bog feeling,,,of course we had msd ignition,,,and not factory,,,very advanced,,,point being,,it loaded the motor,,,at the wrong point of the curve,,,in 04,,,we had a skat 16/24 ,,,good bottom,,,and top,,,.and if you can find one is the 14,5/24,,,may have been 25,...of course you will be limited by the rev limiter,,,,,you can change a prop with a more aggressive first number,,if you have the added hp,,,otherwise,,,your bottom end,,,with lag,,or you can get a prop for bottom end,,,but will lose top,,,so,,,if the motor is stock...i recommend the stock prop,
...

I respect and appreciate your input. That kind of experience is exactly why I'm here. I am curious of how the spx will respond to the stock 17/25 from the xp. I'm ok with a sacrifice of flat water top speed if it means a notable gain down low.

Also check your rotary valve clearance I've chased many boggs when turning for them to be caused by the rotary valve not sealing and pulling away from g force.at first I didn't believe it when sea Doo service said to check it.sure enuff out of spec by a ton
