97 Speedster Carb Clean or "Rebuild"

In the short line, correct? I literally bisected the lines and found nothing.... nada....zip.....zilch....you get the point. The engines run fine (well the starboard) without the restrictor, no loading or anything, and I verified the pumps are working, they both squirt (LPS from pop off testing) with manual actuation.

Ok... carbs have been rebuilt, installed and tested. Found that the exhaust gaskets were blown out on the port engine as well. Replaced the gaskets and things sound alot better. Got the oil injection pumps working and set, still running a tad bit of the remaining premix through the system with non-ethanol 87. The engines are running really well, up to about an hour of cruising with some WOT top end bursts.

This is when things start acting up. The port engine (same as initial problem) starts having the stumbling at 4500 rpm issue until I build some speed, then it takes off. I tried pulling the choke and the engine died, so it's not lean. I am planning on replacing the fuel selector valves for good measure, parts are already on hand.

On a side note, there was some good things to come out of this trip to the lake yesterday, the single trim tab worked great, a little too good, I have to adjust it down a notch as I lost a decent amount of top end speed. Its like a whole different boat now. No more looking at the sky on initial hole shot, and planing is fast and steady. I used the 30lb Nautilus 9.5x10" Smart Tabs.
One tab mounted centrally between the pumps... loving it. I had to modify the mounting bracket, but it turned out great.

I have a spare if anyone is interested.
