97 GTX800 only hits 6000rpm???

The title says it all. Its a 97 GTX800 and it will only hit 6000 rpm. Other then that the ski runs perfectly. What could be the cause of this???

check the rave valves. if they arent working right the engine wont rev over 6000 rpm.

Thanks. I was gonna take a look at them today...

Went to clean the exhaust valves today. Found that one of them was broken... But luckily it didnt drop down into the motor... Guess that was the problem.
