Hey guys i bought a 97 Gtx over the winter and ive rode it a couple times and it runs awesome but today when i went to take it out it put the key in and it says R/V low and the red light blinks. It still beeps twice which means its ready to start correct? I didnt get a manual for it and i am in the process of downloading one right now off the internet. Any help would be appreciated. I also checked the oil and it is full and gas is full too.

Welcome to the seadoo forum Savesday08. I thing the problem is the Low Voltage. Check the battery to see if it needs a charge. It might need a new battery if it does more often. The 97 GTX will indicate low fuel, low oil, low voltage or overheating. To check the battery and to see if it is charging put a multi meter on the battery with the gtx not running. It should have like 12.6 volts and check it running it should be somewhere like 14.6 (If I remember correctly) if the voltage is the same, it might not be charging. To check the battery bring it to like auto zone and have them Load test it to know if it is bad. Keep us posted on you progress.

well i tested the battery today and it read 12.2 volts. I started the ski up and the led blinks 3 times and says 12V low I thought it said RV low (dont ask). But it blinks 3 times and goes away every time i start it up. Do you think the battery needs replaced or charged? I took it out today on the lake and it ran fine with no problems and started right up every time.

these batteries don't have long lives. rarely get 3 seasons. i know people who replace every year. you just got the ski. you don't know if you are starting year 2 or 3 or...

The Battery might have 12- 13 volts on the reading Voltage, but it could have a bad cell and under load it might only deliver 8 to 10 volts...have it load tested. It could cause electrical problems if it has too low a voltage. The price of a battery compared to having problems water side...
