97 gtx cuts out when warm

I took the ski to lake tahoe this weekend and it runs just fine(besides the fact thats its at 6000 ft.)when you first start running,but when it starts to warm up it starts missing real bad,and the longer you run it the worst it gets.you can watch the rpms go from 6000 to 4000 as it cuts out then catches its self.thought maybe plugs,(changed them)thought it might be fuel filter(cleaned)still does it.any help would be great,trying to avoid those costly shops here in san jose.thanks

Because you are at a high altitude, you might need to re-jet the mixture as it is breathing differently there then at sea level as it was set for at the factory.

well im back in san jose and i quess ill take it down to the lake i go to and see if it still does it,thanks

I got a feeling its the higher altitude...if it still does it let us know. Get a plug reading if it still does it, don't just change them.
