Hey guys,
I'm new here and am having problems with my GTi. I tried searching and found some info but I need some more help.
OK here goes...
I bought this jet ski last summer and the guy said it does this once in a while and he had the carbs cleaned and the prop re-worked (thought maybe it was over-reving). Now I'm having this issue too. It will start right up, idle fine and half throttle seems to be fine but when I pin it, it will go for a little bit and then fall on its face, but will not die. It will still idle and I can punch it again and it does the same thing. Also, every time it does this, the fuel gauge reads empty, even with a full tank. I don't have a fuel leak or anything like that.
I've read that the fuel lines deteriorate and gum up and clog the fuel filters (there are 2 filter, right? One in the carb and one somewhere else?) Or could it be my pick up tube clogging up? What do you guys think?
Any input is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Dan
