after two weeks of futility, i have gotten my starter out, wow what a job on that bottom bolt, i don't see how we'll ever get it back in but what the heck..

anyway, i have the starter out:

is there a way to bench test it with a battery to see if it is any good..

thanks !

i connect positive battery terminal to starter bolt.... but what about ground !

as you can see i'm a clueless mechanic...

Simple...put the starter back in the seadoo.....:ack:  Just kidding! You might want to put it in a vise ever so careful, so it wont torque away under power...then just touch the ground to a good clean metal part...it should jump big time. If not and your sure the connection is good on both + and - Then it could be time to tear it apart and clean it, or replace it.

I love a good joke...
