Hey guys, you pointed me in the right direction with my 97 GTi issue, so I feel someone on here can help me out here.
My 96 XP has the VTS and it doesn't work, hasn't since I bought it. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking maybe the little vts motor is bad but haven't done any testing.

you can test the 'little vts motor' by just hooking up the two wires to the pos/neg on your battery, if it moves , reverse the wires and test again, if it moves the other way, your motor is good, but your module is likely bad, or your switch. start by testing the motor

I tested the motor today and it worked both ways but that's all I've have a change to look at so far. I'm leaning towards the module since that seems to be a common issue with these.

Where is the module located? Is that on the back of the motor box?

Yes.

Check/change your 7.5amp fuse first. You can make your own relay. I don't have the diagram on me and won't for a few months, but it is on the net... Google... $20 trim fix, cheap trim our vts fix. Info on this on another site.

But change your fuse and try it.
