Owned for 2+ years then steering cable snapped at the threads near the rear ball joint connector. Replaced it myself and it snapped again. Took it to auth. dealer and they have replaced it 6 times (no kidding, they are persistant)using Seadoo cable then some aftermarket cable. They have all snapped at the same location so that rules out defective part. Things they have tried: restricting turn radius to reduce stress on rear threads. Re-aligning the steering nozzle. They were also in contact w/seadoo tech people. Breakage occurs after 1 hour of use+/-. Original owner is friend and he had no such problem. ANY IDEAS?

Is the nozzle stopping short of it's travel. If the cable is wanting to pull further than the nozzle will travel than it could cause stress on the ball joint end. It might be worn and not seen to the naked eye. Check both ends of the cable area, steering nozzle and handle bars. It seems it must be on one end or both ends, causing the stress.

Well, I think the only part that was NOT replaced was the ball joint at the rear. I think I will try that.
