96 xp no spark

What's up guys I just bought a 96 xp. The ski was a stolen recovery so I had to get a new key made for it. Now that I have the new key and try to start it there's no spark coming out of either of the spark plugs. When the motor turns over there's sparks coming out of the starter...... Any suggestions on what this could be? I've replaced the sparkplugs, fuel lines are clear and carbs are clean. Just not getting any spark at the plugs....
