To start I will say I don't think this is a carb issue, it has just recently been cleaned out and has been running great for some time. Starts easy etc. This problem has come and gone in a few different variations.
So, last sunday I took it out and after 15 minutes of riding it started acting weird. I was trying to give it full throttle and it seemed like the engine was working very hard but just wouldn't go. It was almost as if something was in the intake grate. So I made my way over to a beach and slide it up on the sand a bit and checked a few things it was ok. I didn't see anything in the grate. So I hopped back on and fired her up and the thing ran fine? That was that for that day.
I take it out today starts great, running fine, I'm driving in the no wake zone but I'm going maybe 10-15kmh and as I approached free water about to let it go, I was just messing around going in zig-zags quite a bit faster and then it just slowed right down, I was giving it full throttle yet again although this time, the engine did not seem like it was working hard at all. Well maybe it was working but not like crazy. It also made a sound as I popped the seat off like a train. Dumb way to describe but like chug-a-chug-a-chug-a-chug-a-chug-a........ Very weird. It went like that for about 1 minute, I was about to turn around and take the machine out and consider calling my mechanic but it then let go and went back to normal????? I then rode for another 45 minutes no problems at all.
Any gear junkies/96xp addicts out there that can figure this one out. I'm sure it would be easy for some of you. Any help is appreciated.
