I'm trying to free the engine. I know to turn the crankshaft counterclockwise, but where do I get a good bit on the shaft. As of now I have tried a good pair of vise grips and a pipe wrench and they both keep slipping when I try to turn it. I have had some marvel mystery oil in it for 4 days now. Any helpful suggestions is GREATLY appreciated!

hey...reuse that pipe wrench on the cone part of the PTO, but first, remove the zerk fitting, or a pipe chain wrench. If its locked up, you'll end up loosening the PTO of the crank, which will be ok, since it needs removed..good luck

i assume the plugs are pulled. also, check the jet pump. if water got in the bearing area it WILL sieze up over the winter. if it is the pump, the PTO should move about an eighth inch or less, but some. east texas. gulf of mexico? if motor is siezed hard, pull the motor and pull the flywheel off the front. i broke all my head bolts off and threw away a runnable top end because i didn't check the flywheel first. old seadoos from a salt water environment usually lose the top ends to broken bolts. fortunately the cylinder to case bolts don't break so the motor can usually be saved.
