96 XP hood removal

I am converting to single gate should cover, and I am taking off my triple gauge with mirrors (stock). I don’t know where I should cut the wires that go from the gauges to the E box. Since obviously, I’m not going to be able to fit the wires back through. Should I cut them around where the whole meets the hood cover? Or like a foot more length?

Because I can't fit the plugs through those watertight o rings

If you have the Pin Remover Tool, should be able to remove the Wires from the Plugs, then thread them thru the Grommets.

Keep track of what goes where. Maybe remove one Plug at a time and label everything. Zip tie together...
