'96 Speedster RPM Jumps from 4k to 7k but does not Thrust

My boat seems to be pushing water just fine when going very slow. But if you try to go faster one engine will jump in RPMs for 4k to 7k and its like it is not pushing any more water. If i am using the other engine and get it to plane out, it seems like it starts to push water again. Any Idea what is going on would be awesome!

Sounds like your one pump is cavitating, have you looked at the pump from the inlet side to check if it's clear of trash and also to see if the wear ring isn't trashed?

yes I checked to make sure there was nothing in the jet. How can I tell if the wear ring is bad. Is this an okay wear ring replacement?

You can use a feeler gauge to check between a blade and the ring. The gap should not exceed 0.040" or 1mm. So you want to see LESS than those numbers. As far as the aftermarket rings, never used one I always stick to OEM. They're 4 times the price of the one you posted.
