Hey everyone I am having a few quirks with my new toy.
1996 SEADOO SPX,
Well first off the battery will go dead if I leave the positive terminal on! any ideas ?
second thing is none of the gauges work, I am going to check for corrosion and fuses this weekend, when its not raining.
I DONT know much about this ski as I have just gotten it 2 days ago..
Also where is the Correct flush port at on this ski ? The ski starts right up and runs great,
where is the fuse's located ?

Something is staying on that shouldn't be running. Can hear hear anything like bilge pump or something running all the time?

All the gauges being would sound like just a fuse, but more likely other things are wrong.
Start with the speedo. Check with an ohm meter for resistance. Disconnect wire plug from the gauge and test it there, if you get a reading then gauge is good. On the back of the seadoo on the bottom there is a little paddle wheel sensor for the speed, make sure it spins freely and the wheel is even there, it was missing on mine.

Fuel gauge problems are usually not the gauge but the baffle or the float and magnets in the baffle. Remove baffle and check for resistance while tipping back and forth moving float up and down, resistance should change as movement is detected in the baffle. Check magnets in float, make sure they are still attached and not really dirty.

okay i will try this soon as I get home today if its not raining.. this is florida when it is rainy season it rains everyday!!

thanks again bud ill try it when i get home today from work!!

these fuel guages are notorious for not working. batt goes dead; most likely the rectifier-regulator.
