Hey Guys,
I was out this weekend on a lake with some areas of a lot of seaweed. I've had it happen a few times where seaweed would wrap around the intake grate and the engine will throttle up but the boat won't go anywhere because the seaweed is blocking the water flow. So when I was out a bit later making one last lap around the lake, all of a sudden it was doing what I thought to be the same thing again. Throttles up to any RPM but wouldn't push the water out to reflect the RPMS, couldn't go any faster than about 12 mph. I thought perhaps some seaweed maybe got past the intake grate and was all wrapped around the impeller, but upon inspections when we pulled it out of the water I didn't see anything. I know the impeller isn't in the greatest of shape, and the wear ring definitely needs to be done, but I couldn't imagine this being the main issue as to why I can only go 12 mph. Any thoughts?
