I have a 96 GTX that had a bindex break. I replaced the started and all was back to normal starting. I accidentally reversed the polarity of the battery cables and now it will not respond to the key or anything. I have a new fully charged battery, checked all the fuses, checked the ohms of the switch that read close to 0 with key and had open circuit without key. When start is pushed it reads close to 0 ohms. I can jump the solenoid to get engine to turn over.
I get no response with key installed and wiggles around. (Contacts have been cleaned)
I cleaned all the battery connections and solenoid connections.
Could be possible DESS? My key reads 618ohms.
What else should I check?
