96 GTX Multi Function Gauge

Got a 96 GTX from a friend and the Multi Function gauge isn't working. There are 3 gauges in the consol; speedometer, tach and the Multi gauge. The speed and tach are working so I don't think it's a power issue. The Multi gauge is heavily oxidized so I'm thinking it's shot. I pulled the cover off and tried to get to the gauges but it didn't look like an easy job. My question, I assume you can replace just the Multi gauge? If so, it looks like a pain. Any thoughts?

It probably got a little water in it... and it died. (Common)

It is a pain... but it's possible. BUT... you need very strong fingers to un-thread the ring on the back of the gauge.
