96 GTX Bogging down at 6-7000 rpm???

okay i just took this bad boy out yesterday, just rebuilt the top end and stars and runs fine. but when you get going and hit about 40+mph and around6-7000 rpms it boggs down and dies out why the heck is it doing this?? do i need to pull the carbs. im not sure about a fuel filter. i havent seen one . what can i do?

Yah, check out fuel system, follow the lines, should find filter, clean out fuel selector, and double check compression
