I will try to make this short .... one problem after another

Originally when I connected the lanyard I got one long continuos beep. I traced this out to the fuel guage sending unit. When disconnected ... everything worked fine.

Took to Lake ... ran great except at the end of the day it was doing the surge thing and not going over 15 mph.

I re-connected the fuel guage sending unit and waa-laaa ... no continuos beep .. get the two beeps and starts right up and sounds good but the battery light is on now ????

From what I have read .... Rectifier might be the culprit. Is there a way to test this without opening the electrical box. It appears to get that open I have to remove the gas and oil tanks.

can I just test the battery voltage off and then on ... no change = Bad rectifier ... is this true???

Thanks

You don't have to remove the tanks to get the electrical box out. It'll come out between the gas tank and the exhaust pipe.

Can I test the rectifier by testing the battery Voltage when on and off so I do not have to take it to the lake?
