96 GTI Multigauge

I get no output from my multigauge.
When I insert my DESS key, it does not beep, but everything runs.
Any suggestions on where to start looking at activating the gauge?

Check the ignition module box. There is a fuse inside along with the starter relay. If they are swimming in water and are corroded, take everything apart, dry and clean, then reassemble.


I did this with a 96 GSX that had a flooded box and was able to get it back to running order without new parts.


Give this a shot first before you think about replacing anything.

Oh, after re-reading your post - it occured to me that your boat already starts.

Check all connections in the hull leading up to the gauges. Take them apart, check the pins and reinsert. Remember there are connectors within the top hatch as well to check.
