I ordered the OME rebuild carb kits for my xp limited. I did the rebuild cleaned everything shinny new also replaced all the Tempo fuel lines. Now that everything is back together it will not start, pulled the plugs and they are dry. NO fuel is getting through the carbs. Do I need to prime the system someway? The fuel was turned off during the rebuild but all of the fuel drained out of the lines.

I really want to ride this for the holiday weekend coming up? Do I use starting fluid? Pour fuel down the spark plug holes? Any ideas?

Thanks

After you cleaned the fuel filter/water seperator, did you use a tiny bit of vasoline to make sure the O ring was seated properly?
Did you clean the selector valve and make sure it was working properly?
When you rebuilt the carbs did you replace the needle and seat? If so did you use the original spring to insure the correct pop off pressure will remain the same?
Are you sure you got all the lines installed correctly?

Maybe remove the spark plugs and put a little gas/oil mix into the cylinders. Replace the plugs and fire it up. It usually workes for me.

UPdate. The fuel line was dry; I blew compressed air (mouth) on the gas tank and blew the air out of the lines and gas soon followed. Now seems to run ok but idols at around 1200 rpms on the trailer. I used the same springs on the rebuild and did not change the needles or seats. Just disassembled them and cleaned them up. I had a question to myself when I reinstalled the carbs. On the bottom where the throttle cables attach to the throttle wheel, I had a question on to which hole to put the end of the cables in. There are 2 holes on the wheel one on top and one slightly below on the wheel. I installed the top cable to the top hole and the bottom cable in the bottom hole. I just cannot remember when I took them off if they meaning the cable ends crossed over each other.

I did not adjust any of the screw adjustments at all, at least none that I meant to adjust.
