After some experimenting the DI raves won’t open on crankcase pressure even without the springs and caps on… so I will have to pay the price

Did you try pressuring up the rave system to make sure the valves are working properly with no leaks? It just takes a little pressure. You might need a rebuild kit. Hi, I did just check the rave valves with compressed air.. they both held nicely even up to 90 psi… but i decided to check the air compressor line by using compressed air on the small line coming from the compressor to the rave solenoid… when i pressured it the regulator opened at 80 psi as it should but i noticed that i had air/fuel coming out of the vent line on my inline fuel pressure gauge... I could hear what sounded like air going into the fuel line.. it stopped as soon as I shut off the air..
have you got any ideas where it could be leaking from before I pull the fuel rail apart? I suspect air injector or the associated O’rings?
Regarding the green rave solenoid I spoke to Tony Peila, who said that he has used the earlier brass ones from 2000/2001 and just change the electrical connector.. so I have ordered one and hopefully that will work
That rave system only needs a couple of pounds to operate. I couldn't go over 10psi but you said not leaks so that is good.
I have fittings that I connect to the fuel rail so I can read pressure from the engine. 27psi with the key one and 107 when cranking. 27psi verifies the fuel pump, 107 verifies the compressor system.
