I told my mechanic to by pass the oil mixing system so I prepare a 40:1 mixture. I was told by my mechanic that he had to poor aprox 6 oz of oil into the engine block for cranckcase lubitcation. Have anyone heard of this before?

The injection oil not only lubes the cylinders and rotary valve but there is an oil line that goes into the crankcase on the bottom side of the carb side of the motor and has a vent line that goes back to the oil tank on the rotary valve shaft side of the motor under the exhaust manifold. The injection oil lubes the center crankshaft bearings and crankshaft seals and the rotary valve shaft and bearings without maintaining the oil in the crankcase the bearings and seals on the crank and rotary valve shaft will be destroyed. I premix my 95 spx with the 657 motor I removed the oil tank and oil pump then took the oil line from the bottom of the motor and connected it to the rotary valve shaft hose making sure there was plenty of oil in the line above the rotary valve shaft to maintain lubrication I check it periodically and it doesn't seem to use any oil and I haven't had any trouble with using this method. Hope this help to clear up any confusion of the why it is done.
