I'm considering options to rebuild my 951 Carb engine belonging to our 2001 Sportster boat. One of my many thoughts is whether to rebuild the balance shaft, or buy a complete WSM aftermarket. The cost of bearing and seals will be almost equal to the cost of an aftermarket shaft. But...are the WSM aftermarket shafts reliable enough, and worth the time saved?

I was searching bearing kits to rebuild, but there are many manufacturers ( FAG, NTN, XYZ )of 6208 and 6304 bearings which can make or break a proper rebuild.
