Need to verify a starter cranking problem
I have a 94 GTX and I am unable to get power to trigger the starter relay
I have tested the relay by activating the feed terminals so i know it works
I have good battery power
starter switch tests good
Both stop switches are good
My MPEM is in question:
with a Voltmeter I've tested lead with Ohmes
-y/red & + Red (ring) leads @ 2.052m ohm (should be 150k -1M) too high?
- Red (Ring) & + y/red leads @ 0 ohm (correct)
-blk (ring) & purple leads @ 1.498 ohm (should be 100 - 1.2M) too high?
-red (ring) & + red (female) @ 1.0 ohm (correct)
-blk (ring) & + y/red leads @2.99m ohm (150k-500k) good
-blk & +blk/red leads @1.8m ohm (200k-1M) too high?
-blk (ring) & + blk/y @ 37.6 ohm (30k-40k) good
Now on my relay post I have power to my battery side.
power on my yellow/red wire terminal.
power to my start stop switch side.
I believe the Mpem is to switch a relay terminal to ground to activate the relay to energize the starter terminal.
Am I correct?
is my MPEM bad?
