My husband and I have been trying to get the carb apart to clean it. We're thinking that it is one reason while my ski will turn over but not fully start. We can quite figure out how to get it the filters because there doesn't seem to be any way to get to the screws that release the filter so that we can clean everything. Does anyone know an easy way to get to them or are we going to have to take it all apart?

Thanks!

If you are talking air filter/flame arrestor there are the screws which seadooya described, once you remove the flame screen roll up paper towels to be sure noting falls into the carb holes, it drop all the way into the crankcase from here, take the carb/s to a metal cookie sheet so if something drops you can see it - doing this in the hull is hard, on the water is really hard.

We are now having a problem getting the linkage piece apart. It's the thin bar that connects the carburators. Maybe called the "choke linkage"? If you can't tell, we're new to all this. Neither of us have ever had a jet ski before, but he has worked on many boats and cars.

Thanks for all of your help!

under the flkame arrestor housing, you'll see a brass insert. On left side, is a allen set screw inside, jamming against the thin choke bar.
