93 Sea Doo Wont Run in Water

Hey Everyone Hope all is Well:
I was wondering what could now be wrong with my 1993 sea doo? It runs great on land and has a compression of 120psi in each cylinder. But when I put it in the lake it will not even crank? Does anyone know what this could be...

Check the battery wires. Be sure the ground is getting a good connection to the engine by the starter.

Battery Wiring

I just checked the battery wire from the(-)lead to the motor and it is all white an corroded. Do you think this could cause a power loss and the engine not wanting to run when put in the water? The lead is tight as I tried to move it and it did not budge. Let me know if this could be the whole issue with it not wanting to run in the water. Thanks

any corrosion on any terminals, is not a good thing.

The corrosion is inside the wire end also. I'd cut the end off and replace it with a new one.

The corrosion may be all throughout the wires. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there under the jacket.
