New Girl! 91 Seadoo XP Loosing power and dieing when running

Hi Everyone,
I am new to the forum. I am a girl with little mechanical experience and my husband has even less than I do. Soooo....try to make in instructions in the "Seadoo's For Dummies" Style We just purchased our first Seadoo. It ran out great the first time we put it in the water. Started right up. Previous owner had it for 2 yrs. With out any problems. When I asked what kind of oil to buy he told me any 2 cycle. After reading here I realize that is not right. It has a rotax engine the yellow one.
Ok here is what it does when you are running it. First we left it tied to the dock over night because we were doing to "play" again the next morning. There was a small amout of water in the compartment about 1 inch. It was very hard to start on the second trip out. It will bog down but you can feather the throttle up and down it will gain power again but loose it sometimes dieing in the water (had to be towed in the 2nd time we took it out). This is what I saw when I checked it out. The fuel lines are clear plastic. Oil light came on during the first trip but went off. Oil level is 1/2 tank. Looked at the spark plugs and one of them has half of the ceramics off the side. Don't have a wrench to take it out. Goin to get one today. Battery is dead now becuase of trying to start it over and over in the middle of the lake.
That is all I know, can you help me figure this one out?
Thank!!!
Lynda

Ok I have it working

Put in new battery, new spark plugs and after 5 hours of messing around with it I checked the gas tank (gauge is broken) it was empty...:ack: it's funny how these things will not run without gas and good plugs. Just got back from having her out for an hour and everything is perfect.

Well, at least you know what was wrong and what needed fixin'!

I hate the problems where you take something apart, but can't find anything wrong with it.
