I will be replacing carbs on my 96 gtx and while I at it I’m planning on changing small oil lines and filter. I’ve heard you can remove pump and turn it with a drill. Is this true? If so which direction do you turn it?
id rather have oil filter and lines full when I start it and do carb adjustments.

You can, but there’s no need. Just bleed the pump until there is no air in the supply line and then close the bleed screw. Then you can start the engine and let it idle while you hold the lever arm on the pump open. It will fill the lines within 20-30 seconds... At idle, you’re flowing almost zero oil anyway. The lubrication comes from the residual in the crankcase.

I've done it, spin it counter clockwise with the drill. Trying to do it with it idling is a PITA if you ask me, it's easy to have the cable slip off. Prime it with a drill and be done with it...
