787 engine

Well, until now it cost me abt. 2.5K USD. So, only time will tell how much I end up using on it before the fun part can begin :) At this time, I would be willing to pay 3K USD for a pair of good-condition-engines. But first priority is to find them a bit closer to me geographically, you know, just in case...

Once again, thanks for all the input everyone.

And thanks for the compliment YUOnDaGround :)

Do you also need the carbs and exhaust? How complete do you need the engines to be?

Based on my current knowledge about these kinds of boats, I honestly don't know how much is missing. It seems as if the exhausts... are still in the boat (?). However, I took a few pics of the engine room where it should be possible for the trained eye to see how much is missing. Based on the these pictures, what do you think is missing?

Thanks very much.

Looks as if you are missing everything; those are the waterboxes, not the exhaust. I dont see any driveshafts either. You need absolutely complete motors with exhaust pipes. You need driveshafts too.

Yeah it looks like you are going to need a lot. I would expect this project to cost a lot if you expect to find everything in the US and ship it. Looks like you need complete motors with everything. Are the complete pumps still attached?

How much for motors from SBT, if you had "core" exchanges. You can go on ebay, and find everything for "cores". Also, exhaust pipes, pump assys, driveshafts are, dime a dozen.

Its true...but 2 of everything adds up quick. I think that machine had the same driveshaft as an XP.

And buying used motors is a crap shoot...never know what you are going to get.

Wanna help creating a List-Of-Missing-Parts? :)

It also looks like the cover of the electronics box is off. Take a picture of that and lets see what is missing.

Unfortunately, this box seems pretty empty too as you can see in the attached pics :(

The dream scenario for me now would be:

1. To create a list (with the much appreciated help from you guys in here) of everything missing for this baby to have it back in function.

2. Calculate the needed budget based on the "final" list and the shipping/taxes... cost.

3. If calculated budget ends up financially reachable for me, start collecting the missing parts (based on research and your input) through e-bay, US-shipping, locally etc.

4. Have the mechanic start fixing and testing the boat in order to have it ready for the summer :)

Why don't I get rid of this one and buy a "fully functional boat". Well, in DK a fully functional boat of this class would cost me at least 12k USD, and this is definitely out of my budget :-(

What do you say guys? Want to share your ideas for this project with this very ambitious newbe? :-)

Please remember my appreciation for anyones input for this list of missing parts.

Thanks very much.

How can I check if the complete pumps are still attached?

Take a look at the back of the boat to see if the jet pumps (jet drives) are there.

How much did you pay for this boat? Converted to US $

At least you have a ladder, I can't seem to find one for myself.

I know some more experienced guys will jump in here and fill in all the blanks. For what I can see this is the start of your list.

2 Complete carb to exhaust engines
2 drive shafts
2 jet pump assemblies
2 venturi with reverse gates
1 MPEM - check out seadoosource.com as he has a cheap substitue
2 starter solenoids

I paid approximately 2.5k USD. That is with its original Seadoo trailer. And this should be a quite good price according to the danish prices. But let's see. Only time will tell how much it'll cost me in the end.

And yeah, luckily the ladder is still there :)

Thanx YUOnDaGround!

2 starter solenoids

he gots those.

You'll need the driveshaft seal assys as well...accordian boots, carbon ring, steel ring...etc.

Find out what shipping would be from CA to where yuor at, then post up. I found a challenger somewhat respectable in price, and if interested, can go from there. Of course then, i'll have a gutted POS boat, i'll need to do away with...:svengo:

missing-parts-list

Hey everyone.

So far I have the following list:

2 x 787 Engines (Complete carb to exhaust engines)
2 x Batteries
2 x Drive shafts
2 x Jet pump assemblies
2 x Venturi with reverse gates
1 x MPEM
2 x Starter solenoids (do I already have these according to the pics?)
? x Driveshaft seal assys
2 x Accordian boots
? x Carbon ring
? x Steel ring

Does anyone have more input to this list? Or any corrections?
Thanks again.

There's a few mpems on ebay, but they're way to expensive, you should contact seadoo source and/or replace the mpem with 2 pwc mpems, you'll lose the saftey function of being able to start the boat while in gear, otherwise the MPEM is the most expensive part... :(
