I got a 97 seadoo 1800 Challenger and this past summer took it to the beach and the port engine jammed and won't turn. I checked the pump assy and it turns freely. The engine won't turn. I took the heads cover and there was something that looked like corrosion on the cylinder heads. I cleaned it up, put some wd-40 and xpx oil and tried pushing the heads down and it is still jammed. Any suggestions please. Thanks Johnny

Remove the Raves and look at the piston skirts for wear and metal pieces in the
openings. It may need engine rebuilding as any part broken ends up in crankcase.

Thanks Bills86e, I was able to take one Rave valve, the other one is behind the exhaust manifold. I will try removing exhaust manifold today.
Thanks.
Is it possible that it may be just water damage that might it leak from a bad gasket?

:agree::ack: It looks like there was salt water sitting in that motor for a period of time, sorry to say that does not look good.

should I just buy the cylinder exchange top-end rebuilt from SBT? :ack:

Any suggestions on that? Thanks

New engine...

No, I would not attempt just the upper end rebuild. If you look at the condition of those cylinders, it's likely that you've also got poor conditions at the crankshaft. You've probably got rust covering the bearings, etc....

If you elect to do just the top end, then the bottom locks up on you, that was money wasted. Go ahead and bite the bullet and get the new motor and be finished with it.......
