Understood about the carb cleaner, no lube for cylinders and drying affect with that stuff, but to get it jumped and create some heat .. Motoring the engine has near same effect though doesn't it, no lube oil in cylinders / fuel mixture during that cause fuel pump is not working.

Pulled PTO and cleaned pump housing, was full of fluid.

Question - trying to prime oil pump while I have carbs off and motoring engine. Why am I not getting any flow in tubes when I pull prime screw and move arm full flow? Does teh pump require vacuum when carbs are installed? Shouldn't I be able to prime oil pump with carbs off and moving oil pump arm full with bleed screw removed?

No, the engine isn't turning fast enough without the engine running to do anything.

You need to prime the lines with the engine idling at the pump am held wide open.

You should be cranking with premix, so you will have some lube while it’s idling, even if the fuel pump isn’t working... With all that residual fluid in the bottom end, it wouldn’t really matter anyway. You just need to get it running under a heavy load to get everything cleared out.

Guys, good results end of day, thanks so much for your advice!
After getting it fired off with carb cleaner (I know, not a good idea, but it showed NO signs of life and carb cleaner was all that gave a pulse at all), found after a few hours had fluid spewing to carb line again, so didn't get enough out to avoid contamination to carb. With carbs pulled, intake open, noted fluid also spewing into intake manifold as well. So, hooked up a shop vac to the exhaust and turned over several times with and without spark plugs. This made a huge difference. Found after a very short while, was able to get fluid draining from exhaust and stop spew to carb line as well as stop to intake. Did this several times, again with and without spark plugs installed spraying the culinder walls (in spark plug holes) with WD 40 just to keep some sort of lube on the rings and cylinder walls. Reinstalled carburetors, turned over a few times to get cylinder walls warm, hooked up shop vac to exhaust, poured some premix in teh carbs and it lit right off. Had to pull the shop vac shortly theerafter, as it was sucking in all the exhaust and slop. It ran on it's own, idled OK, so I apparently fuel pump is working as it should. Next to the lake on teh trailer for a long run to purge all. Thanks again all! Will advise how lake run goes.

Ran it tonight in the water about 35 minutes. Very sluggish for first 10-15 (I don’t believe this engine has run in over 5 years), but then started responding to throttle and could get an idle out of it. Clear line from oil pump to filter still empty, so I assume the pump requires the bleed / prime? Thought I’d read that the system would eventually bleed itself?
I plan to run again in the water and open bleed screw, assuming that gets oil system moving?
