when do you guy's think is the best time to change your oil? end of season for storage or spring time, I had only put on about 6 hours on it this season and I changed the oil in it 6 hours ago in spring time. Here in PA my boat will sit 5 months in an unheated garage. It is recommended by the manual and some dealers that I called to do it before storage, is there much to what they say about dirty oils given off acids inside the crankcase, wanted to get the forums opinion on this

Wow that's not a lot of hours per year. If it were mine I would change it annually before storage. I used to have a lot of sportbikes and every manufacturer recommends an oil change prior to long term storage. I consider the engines in our boats/skis to be of the same category and treat them the same way.
