Hi All
Just a quick one. A mate of mine (actually a friend of a friend of a ......) has new OEM Mercury 53-857196 lock rings as used for the OEM Mercury pistons. He also has a set of WSM pistons that do not have lock rings (?).
Can these Mercury lock rings be used on the WSM pistons?
What is the best/recommended position to fit the rings? When I built my engine I put the split of the ring directly across/opposite the slot/groove that is used to pry out the ring. I also used my thumbs to push in the ring but Jake wants to buy or make a tool for this. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
