2014 gti 155 limited modifications

Hey all.
I know that most people dont like the gti's because they are slower N/A and usually say 'just get a gtr or better ski.. not an option for me or many of other people that may be looking into the same question as me.

I am sure someone out there has have to have made some performance mods.
What is available in terms of moderate mods (outside of dumping stupid amounts of cash for turbo or SC)

Best mods are run on 1/2 tank of gas or loose some weight if you are heavy like me as I could stand to loose 20#. Or you could trade me even as I have a few less options which means less weight. lol
I personnally find the GTI plenty fast and torquey for me.

Maybe a free flow exhaust (which you can do your self) and a better tunned ecu for injection and ignition timing (maybe on pwc muscle shop)?

With this and a air intake you just MIGHT see 1 maybe 2 mph on top end. Most likely it will just make more noise than anything though. You're stuck with a ski that just doesn't lend itself to mods very well without boost.

The 155 engine runs very well and near its peak. Cold air intake will help. If you re-impeller the ski, you will lose either top end speed or bottom end out bother hole performance. As suggested above, less fuel will help. This is a hard engine to gain much especially when compared to the cost to do so.

If you really gain 15%.... let´s say 10%... plus a free flow exhaust and a low restriction air filter... I believe you would for sure run faster than a stock GTI 155.

that´s why I said "maybe".... lol

I did not spend the time reading the entire news, it was only a tip to who knows, find a way or some solution to "pimp" the ECU....

I dont believe which in a such big world, no one has a solution to gain 10 or 5% of gain in an ordinary ECU.

For sure, electric supercharger it´s not the way!! LOL!

But if I would not find any other solution, and if I Really want to do something, I would try it and see... why not?
If does not work, it´s just garbage it! LOL

I also found this "kit"... also didn´t ever see it installed, but if they made a kit, we expect it will gain something...

This claims a top speed of about 56.5... but i have already managed to hit (56 on a full tank) and 59 on half a tank or less stock so i dont think it would be worth it if those numbers are suppose to be the improvements

I cant speak for other GTI's but atleast the 155 se limited includes gps as it give orientation and degrees and has a gps icon in the cluster so i figured the tach would also be measured via gps. Is this not true?

No way can GPS measure engine RPM. sorry no going to happen

So then why do people use gps applications on smart phones to measure speed? Those cant measure rpm's either

I'm not understanding why you are thinking that you have to measure rpm to determine speed via GPS. My phone can track my speed when jogging. No rpm there.

Also the on board GPS can malfunction from time to time and give an erratic reading if the signal is weak. If you're riding on a river it doesn't account for current so you will go slower upstream then downstream.
