Hey Guys,
Just wanted to share a couple pics of my newly installed BlackTip Traction Mats I ordered off of Ebay. They were relatively cheap, easy to install, look great and seem to be well made. With that said I will keep you posted as to performance and durability.

That would be sweet. Like to see those pics too if that company makes them for these boats.
Thanks Guys ! For 100 bucks you can't go wrong. I just have them installed on the transom and still have carpet inside which is holding up well so far.

And yes, they do have the entire kit for our boats so that may be an option down the road when the carpet starts to go.

I never saw the original carpets on my SeaDoo to know the quality, but on my previous boats with carpet, one way or another, they'd get wet and retain water. Once that happened, I'd eventually got mildew and had to get down and scrub for hours to try to get rid of it. Having SeaDek mats on mine just feels so much better and nice to clean up, except oil. That was a pain to clean.

But I have a personal hatred to snap on carpets. Previous boat had it and the snaps would come out of the fiberglass and was a pain to fix. And when the snaps came out of the carpet itself, I sliced my foot on it. That said, I think the new Scarab boats actually have snap in SeaDek mats, which I think is a good choice. Never understood who thought it was a great idea to put carpet in boats, as if they wouldn't get wet and dirty.

Anthony, Would love to see some pics of the SeaDek installed on your boat. Did you have it custom made to fit or they offer a premade kit ? Price ?

Thanks !

@briancayko and @studiocat13 Sure! Sorry briancayko for the late reply! Didn't realize how dirty it looks in the picture, but I just picked the boat up after 11 months in the shop and didn't have time to clean it thoroughly yet. I think there was supposed to be one under the small frontmost removable bow cushion, but the previous owner just didn't install it. Will try to find just that matching piece but not sure how hard that'll be.

If there is anything else you'd like to me see, let me know!

I did the seadek kit as well through a different site with a promotion (they usually do them yearly around september). I got the full kit for $900. Seadek is the way to go if you can spend the cash.

Yeah Guys, The SeaDek looks great !! When my carpet starts to go this will definitely be what I upgrade to. Didn't won't to spend a lot on the transom since I figured the carpet would need to be replaced eventually so the Black Tip fits the bill. Thanks for sharing the pics and info, definitely a big help on how to spend some more money soon !! LOL !

Hey Studiocat, i was wondering if you could post an update about the black tip decking?
This past weekend we were headed home & our carpet started unwinding itself & a couple snaps pulled through the carpet. In any case it was 8yrs old & just got worn out. I am going to do the whole boat & the black tip seems to be about 1/3 the prices of the sea deck so i was wondering how you liked it & if you would consider doing the whole boat in it?

Brian, so far it seems to be holding up fine and should work well for the entire boat but I will say that the Sea Deck is a lot nicer and I will probably go that route when I replace the carpet. Works great for the transom area and my particular needs so its just preference and budget I guess. Hope this helps !
