2010 Challenger Port Engine - No Thrust

So, after rebuilding both pumps, getting the starting issue sorted out with the port engine, the boat finally hit the water. I started up the port engine and it made "zinging" sound and has NO thrust. Engine revs, "zing" get louder, and the boat does not move. Starboard is fine.

I did notice, when taking this thing apart last year, that the splines on the driveshafts and the insides of the impellers, had some corrosion (salt water boat) but the spline tool held tight when I disassembled and reassembled.

I suspect I am not dealing with one of two things???

1) driveshaft is spinning on the impeller (this may suck to take back apart)
2) the carbon ring is toast?
3) something else?

Parts I am looking at:

Trying to find parts, and a tech to work on this in Northern VA as I do NOT have the time for months and months.

Any and all advice welcome

The carbon seal has nothing to do with propulsion. If bad it will leak.

Sounds like you may have stripped the splines.

Who did the work?
