I bought a new fish finder and 13 years later, i finally got a boat and remember about the fishfinder that been collecting dust. This is the hummingbird 200DX. it comes with transducer and temperature sensor. I'm planing to using this fish finder as a depth finder and will not be using the temperature sensor. I got 4 questions for anyone that have installed a depth finder on their boat.

1. please send me a picture of wher is the best place to epoxy the transducer.
2. Is drawing power from the 12V outlet ok? if not where on the boat beside the battery that i can go to to hook up the fishfinder.
3. What do you use to cut out a 1 inch hole. Is there a drill bit that big?
4. where is a good place to mount the unit.

thanks for the pictures.

I have a Lowrance. Just screw holes drilled, bought a ram mount and ran the cables through the gap in the storage bin lid into the back of the dash. We tried mounting the transducer in two spots but found the best read came on the right hand-side of the engine just next to the engine mount. If you check my photos from previous posts there should be one somewhere of the Lowrance fitted.
