Looking for advice, I have a 2006 Seadoo Sportster and bought a HawkEye DT2B DepthTrax depth finder. I've tried for the last two weekends to find a good location for the in-hull transducer with no luck. Anyone know if this boat is a core hull or a place where there's only fiberglass?

If it were me, I would use the transom mount as cutting a hole in the hull is not something I would be comfortable doing.

Another option would be a unit with an In-Hull transducer, like what is factory on my 2011 Speedster

I am running one in my 230 Wake…it’s a different layout than yours but it was difficult for me too. Mine came with an angle offset mounting bracket. Needed that because the only spot where mine fit and worked was on the down slope of the hull, starboard side towards the back of the boat. Godspeed!

Hi Tpossematto —

Here’s my account from 2010 of installing the transducer in my ‘05 Sportster:

Thread 'Hawkeye D11S depthsounder install on '05 Sportster SCIC'
Hawkeye D11S depthsounder install on '05 Sportster SCIC

Since then I’ve remounted it in a couple of spots on the inside of the hull, with the best results (and easiest access) around the flattish area to the port-side of the engine. I used marine epoxy to attach it, and sanded well first.

It works very well in saltwater, and somewhat intermittent in fresh. In freshwater it tends to drop at speed, or in water over 30’ deep. Good enough for me though.

Good luck.
