Hi, thanks in advance for any help, i am very 'inexperienced' with boats in general and particularly mechanical issues
I have a 2006 utopia, each winter i have left my battery on a trickle charger, drop it in boat, fires up and no problems. two weekends ago was first weekend out with boat and no problems, had boat on and off all weekend. This weekend put boat in water, and click, click, click. neither engine would start, only clicks. lights, radio etc nothing works. i have a marine portable power pack that is supposed to be able to start boat, hook it up, radio, lights now work but only clicks when try to start either engine.
Borrow a battery from friend that we know is good and charged, drop it in, boat starts right up. Drag kids around in tube for an hour or so, shut off boat for maybe 5 minutes, try to start and nothing but clicks.
Any thoughts, suggestions? My original battery is back on the charger but presumably will have same problem when i put it back in. It seems battery is getting drained somehow. I dont want to get back out there next weekend and have same problem. This is the original battery. The boat is a 2006 but has only been in water last 2 years. Because the second battery failed I am concerned that this is not just a battery problem.
thanks again for any help.
