Hey everyone! I recently found a pair of 2007 GTX limited skis with (you won't believe this) 21 and 17 hours.

Any issues I should be aware of with the 2007 4-tec supercharged engines?

Yes, they both need the superchargers rebuilt. They are 15 years old and the supercharger bearing cages get brittle with age. Looking at $2000-$2500 for both.

If you pull the Super Chargers out yourself, not hard, watch 3feetdeep's videos,
& send them out it is ~$435 each, I used PWCMuscle.
And change the spark plugs & oil. Too few hours can be bad if they sat
for long periods.

The one thing some of our newer riders may not realize is the significant fuel consumption difference between the early to mid 2000's GTX reg F/I and the S/C model. It only shows up when you ride like 60+ miles or so, which we did for many years.
Our 2003GTX and 2006GTX would get there with 1/4 tank left while the 2007GTX-S/C was nearly out. Your actual conditions and speed will vary, but the GTX F/I's were maybe 25% better on fuel overall when running the exact same distances. I think we squeaked out over 90 miles on the 2003GTX F/I one time?
I would always joke with my "maximum acceleration" buddy that I could always tow him to the dock.

The other thing would be to check (replace) the steering and reverse gate cables if needed. Low hours does NOT always mean that their "sitting in or near the water" time could not be much higher, right?

Great recommendation to mkov608 to replace, or at least really check the steering cables on an older ski. Some condensation will have sat in the cables for a long time, and there isn’t a very effective way to restore or lubricate them.

I have an 04 GTX that I purchased a couple of years ago. It has 10 hours on it. Could you advise as to where I could find a video on pulling out the supercharger? Also I heard horror stories about so called supercharger mechanics. Can anyone provide any info on a reputable rebuilder for the supercharger?
Also thank for the information about the oil and cables......Ray

I have read good things about PWC muscle and they are running a special right now, pulling mine tomorrow to send to them.

My 08 ski now has 170hrs.on the skis computer when checked with my Candoo scanner, but with the new display replacement , I now have 2hrs. on the dash. That's a something to think about when you find a low hour unit. Most all those dash displays get bad LCD screens with age, and have been replaced .
