Hello,

I am new to the forum and just recently purchased a used 2006 Seadoo RXT, I was wondering what all general recommendations do you have to keep it up and running best. It has 64 hours on it and has only been ran in fresh water.

I know I need to have the supercharger rebuilt with the new washer etc, but what else?

I also noticed the flush is in the rear of the waverunner which I find awkward from anything i've seen in the past but this flushes the motor I suppose.

Your profile says the ski is a 2005 and here you said it is a 2006. I ask as, 2004 to early 2006 the 4-tec engine used Hollow Core Sodium Filled exhaust valves. These valves were updated to solid core as they failed periodically. You will want to keep this in mind as if they do fail, serious engine damage happens.
As far as maintenance goes, rebuild the SC if it has not been done due to the ceramic washers, Every two years or 200 hours once you have the updated shaft and steel washers. 100 hours if you do not have the updated shaft.

Change the oil every year at the end of the season, (not that there is a end in Florida). This way no contaminants sit in your block during the down time.

Are you familiar with the "Closed Loop Cooling System" and how it works?

Spray the block down with CRC-556 or WD-40 if you can't find the CRC. Coat all metal parts well. This will protect the block very well and prevent corrosion

Sorry for the confusion it's a 2005. I plan to have the supercharge washers upgraded not sure if that includes the shaft, i'll have to inquire.

Do you happen to have any links on how to do the the oil change.

Also the Hollow Core Sodium Filled exhaust valves is that something you can do yourself?

And finally I am not really familiar with the closed loop system, first time dealing with it.

Thanks!
