I noticed my boat does not automatically spit the water out and I have to do it manually. Any help on location and installation of bilge pump is greatly appreciated.

I am very new to boating. But so far I love this thing. But I need advice on maintenance. Last tuneup was 1 year ago. What do I need to do. To keep my boat going. I pushed the bar. And with 4 male passengers. I was able to hit close to 50mph. This past Monday on haulover sandbars

The water has to reach a certain level, before it will kick in automatically, unless you have a bad float switch. It is somewhere down on the starboard side. Check and see if something is blocking the switch, or replace it. A working bilge pump is a good thing to have.

For maintenance, change the plugs, change the oil, filter and o-rings/gaskets. Check your impeller wear ring, and replace if gouged. Also, grease your jet pumps, and consider an oem rebuild kit, to replace seals and bearings in the pumps... Good luck!

Bilge pump appears to be dead center in the rear of the engine compartment.

So we know the pump is working, test the switch by putting in the drain plug and filling the hull with the hose. If you can see the pump, then fill the bilge until water is at least half way up the pump housing. If you can't see the pump, check the level by manually hitting the bilge switch periodically as you fill the hull until water pumps out.

Add more water for a bit to see if the switch starts the pump. If water level goes over the pump body and she still doesn't pump, then more than likely the switch is bad.

Try tupper ware full of water and put pump in to check.I really don't see why that wouldn't be possible .Althogh I haven't tried that, yet.

check the inline fuse for the auto bilge, usually near the battery. just follow the wire back from the bilge pump towards the battery. the auto float can get jammed with shit and blow the auto fuse.(manual will still work though).
