Hi, thanks for reading. I recently purchased a pair of 06 GTX's, one is supercharged (115hrs) and one is not (75hrs). Some interesting points:
- The impeller one the SC ski is pretty nicked up. I had to pull some rocks out of the back pf the pump - I am guessing PO ran it in shallow water.
- The non SC ski comes out of the hole faster than the supercharged one. The SC can gain some ground on the top end, but nothing impressive. Maybe due to above?
- The SC ski uses more fuel than the non SC ski. 3 days out and fuel consumption was 8g and 6.5g, 4g and 3g and 5g and 5g, respectively.
- The instrument cluster is dead on both skis. I have checked fuses and done a basic visual on wiring, nothing obvious.
- The SC skis gives me the occasional long beep when running. At first I thought it was only when running wide open for periods of time, but now it seems more random than that.
- The knock sensor and exhaust temp errors always occur together.
- Engine compartment temps between the two seem pretty similar.
- The SC always has more warm water in the bilge after going out.
- Both Ski's run great and pull like a mule.
- I am running 93 octane fuel.
- I bought Candoo pro.
- "Last Serviced By" shows SBT, makes me wonder if the engine or MPEM was replaced.

I am attaching the Candoo report on the SC ski. I didn't have a chance to hook up to the other other ski yet. The things I am wondering about are:
- is the SC ok to ride, even though its throwing the error code?
- what should I address first? I want to replace the clusters, mostly so I can monitor fuel level.
- is it worth replacing the impeller?

I can't seem to upload attachments, so I uploaded the Candoo report with error codes below:

Thanks, I should have mentioned that I got a receipt from the PO showing the wear ring (and other service, oil and stuff) replaced 11hrs ago, so the wear ring looks good. The ski is up at the lake, I'll get pics of the impeller next time I am there.

What do you make of the know and exhaust heat errors? Should I be concerned?

Did you try these skis out before buying.............. You have a lot of issues going on. Like knock sensors, probably if it seems hot it is...could have sucked up something. You need new instrument clusters... Long beep while running is bad... With out the clusters your not seeing fault codes. Wherethe ceramic washers replaced? S/c should jump out of the water unless the washers are slipping.

I am going up there this weekend, I am going to have a look at the MPEM and check the cooling system for blockages as well.

I think I will also pull the pump off and bring it home and change out the impeller and wear ring. I will go ahead and order new O-rings and stuff too. As I mentioned, I get some warm water drain, so I am debating whether I should try and change the bellows and carbon ring while I have the pump off.

My plan is to eventually remove and SC and send it out for rebuild and replace the gauge clusters but I need to do one project at a time....

you need to remove the s/c to get to the bellows and ring. you also need the tool to remove the carbon ring.

So I pulled the pump and the impeller is far worse than I thought. I am going to swap it out and replace the wear ring and all the seals, etc.

I took a video of the SC running, does the supercharger sound normal?

And sorry for the dumb question, but where the heck is the MPEM? The service manual and parts fiche reference it, but not where it is.

Thanks

Mark

I was able to hear it on my computer. I am not hearing anything that is alarming.. That said, at idle you would not know if you are getting slippage as there is minimal load and minimal need for the SC'r.

The impeller issue just goes to show, it is VERY challenging to trust the previous owners. Not even from the dishonest aspect. They could be no smater than a box of rocks...

Point well taken- PO told me it was 215HP but its actually a 185 by using the engine number.

So I ordered a solas 14/19 impeller, which is recommended for the 215. Will that be a big deal? I just use it recreationally and pulling kiddos on the tube and a skier here and there.
