Alright so I just checked out a 05 model speedster 215....
The boat has been sitting for TWO YEARS. yea i know...i know, bad idea already
Anyway the battery had been removed, i brought one hooked it up and it cranked right up, i did not attempt to start it and i doubt it would anyway.
To the best of my knowledge it had NOT been winterized, it comes with no service records.
Southern boat, freshwater only
Now if i decide to pick this up and start working on it, what all should i do just to make it safe to start and run?
So far from my research i have found:
- Replace the S/c ceramic washers
- Change ALL fluids (including drain gas, flush)
- New plugs
- New filters
Also, would fogging the engine help at all at this point? I have heard horror stories of the bottom ends blowing up from improper storage...
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
