2005 Seadoo RXP Power Lost

Hi everyone, please help. Each time we bring out our 2005 Seadoo RXP, it is losing power after about 10 minutes of running. When you start it up, it is at full power getting up to around 67 MPH but after about 10 minutes, the maintenance light would beep on and it loses power, only getting up to around 36 MPH. What can be causing this? It does it regularly. Shutting it off and restarting it seems to resolve the problem but I don't want to have to keep doing that. Is there any cheap and quick fix to this issue, please help?

Do you see a “limp home mode” message when your speed is limited?

No, but the "maintenance" light will display.

Do you have any active fault codes on your MFD before you shut down and restart your ski?

You will have to press set 5 times while the fault is happening to get codes. Then press mode until it says end to scroll through all the codes.

Often its the rear oil pressure switch,,,they are cheap and easy to install.

Oh. I did get a code after pressing the set button 5 times, it came.up as p1690, something to do with the VTS?

Your VTS wiring is either shorting to ground or your VTS fuse is blown or both. Your going to need a service manual to troubleshoot your VTS wiring or it’s a trip to the dealer.

Looking to see if anyone can help me out with a problem, lets a friend ride my seadoo and he was spinnin around on it lots. He came back and it wouldn’t go over 25mph usually goes 70mph. Seadoo will start then shut off 10 seconds after. Seems like the machine is bogging and running shitty. Not really sure what it would be this is my first seadoo

Runs for 10 seconds or so then bogs out

i ended up draining gas tank, adding oil and changing out spark plugs made the machine run way better. But now at 3/4 throttle the seadoo doesn’t wanna reach top speed. Usually goes 73mph, but will go to 55mph max? Not sure whats going on and rather not pay big money at local dealership. Please if anyone has a good idea why its not running like it should be! Also for example when goinh 45mph the rpms go up and down from 6000-5000 while keeping a steady speed

MY VTS DID STOP WORKING AND I GOT THE SAME CODE AS YOU. DID U EVER FIX THIS? Mine runed fine after vts stopped working cant figure it out dont think its vts issue!

Check your supercharger
