Ok...

DOC can you send me a link where i can get the rebuild kit.... am getting ready to pull that power head and i wanna see what all come with it and am looking to see about how much $ am gonna spend....like i said ill be posting pic soon in case it helps somebody in the future...i bough a digital torque from snap on its nice!!!

also when i pull that engine up...is there something holding it from the pump?

Once the throttle cables, the power, the fuel lines... and the 10 or so nuts around the base... it will just lift out.

I'll have to dig up the guy I bought my kit from.

A continuous beep is "over temp."

I have the same boat and found that loud continuous beep could be low battery voltage when accompanied by the orange light (switch on dashboard with the orange light will reset it to a intermittent warning light as long as the voltage is below a certain level.) Check battery alternator.

Hey Doc did you ever find the guy that sold you the kit?

Sorry about that.... to totaly forgot. I'll also PM this.

Anyway... I got it from a guys named "Fasterthanmachone" on ebay. But, it looks like he isn't selling there anymore. The shop on the stickers was "TSM Performance"... and he was working out of "Tri-state Marine" (the physical shop)

I found a phone number for them: TSM PERFORMANCE 847-526-6211

Either you can bolt a chain around the engine... or the better thing is to buy the flywheel tool. It's $35. It's the lifting eye, and the flywheel puller. It's good to have.

Hey Doc I put the engine back and i dont know if this is normal on this boats but i have a lot of vibration at 3500 rpms is that normal for this boats?

Nope. They are actually surprisingly smooth above idle. Your impelled may have damage, and you are feeling some cavitation. Or, there is a stick, or other debris in the pump.

I pull the impeller of and it doesn't have any damage....my boat its an 05 does it suppose to have a wear ring there? it looks just like the yamaha jetskis (no wear ring).....you think i have a bad bearing inside the pump?

ill take a pic so you can see

The wear ring is the aluminum housing. It cold be a bearing, but you would feel a roughness when turned by hand.

ok I took everything apart..Engine and Pump Ass. no bad bearings anywhere....Makes Me wonder if i could have a bent rod or drive shaft...
How can i check for bent rods?

I have not read all through his post. So forgive me if I duplicate so suggestions.

Can you turn it over by hand with the plugs removed?

If you bent a rid the piston will not travel as high. Measure how far down the piston is at TDC through the plug hole. They should be identical. If not, something is wrong.

yes i can turn over by hand... i did think bout checking TDC i will check that tomorrow thanks ....do you think a bent rod would make this boat vibrate alot on high rpms?

I think if a rod was bent..... it would simply break when you ran the throttle up.

Unfortunately, without being there... it's hard to say.

Regardless... if you have the ability to check down the sparkplug holes... then check.

If it does have a bent to and it does run, yes, it could vibrate. The compression will be substantially lower creating a decrease in performance for that cylinder.

I have seen some engines run with bent rods but it is rare. They either break or have damage elsewhere and won't run.

Ok i put a new rebuilt kit on this last week ( like Dr. Honda told me last year!!) sent it to get the ECU program to break in mode and this thing is running like a champ now...the rings were wore out along with the upper bearing....Tony is 120psi compression good?

i will soon post all my pic

Yep... on fresh rings... that's fine. After 5~10 hr's running, and the rings seat... it should be around 125~130 psi.

Ok i pulled my vapor separator and my first reaction was OMG!! it looked like someone put gel in there lol...well its clean and boat its running properly on that part.

my problem i get a constant beep (overheating i think) when i go park it on the dock and leave it there for 20min turn off. when i start back up it will overheat if i dont rev up to 2500 or unplug the head cooling hoses. also when i take the boat to high rpms like 5500 it will only run for maybe 10-15 sec and overheat and the guardian comes on and slows my boat.

Any ideas doc? I was thinking poppet valve. What do you think
