Hello all,
Just a yami tech trying to work on a bombardier here...
A friend of mine, owns an '05 RXT and she brought it to me with a no crank/start problem.
First off, the battery was beat dead. Started with a fresh battery. With the lanyard inserted, the standard single beep sounds .. followed by the heartbeat beep reminding me the lanyard is inserted
Pressing down on the start/stop button IS in fact firing the fuel pump, however it is not engaging the starter solenoid. I have checked ALL fuses, including the standalone fuses on the harness. Clean connections on all cables and confirmed 12v to the solenoid. The engine WILL crank if i jump the solenoid, i have yet to feed 12v to the brown wire- dont want to cause more chaos than what ive already got.
I have un plugged the the 2 pin terminal at the solenoid- when you insert the lanyard it seems to determine that is unplugged as i get a second beep that sounds. Anyhow, the purple wire has 12v, and brown has 0 regardless of if you press the start/stop button or not.
Using a jump switch i decided to check for spark- it does in fact have spark.. but even when cranking, it does not attempt to fire. Plugs are dry... something is definitely holding back fuel, and i would assume its the same thing that is keeping it from cranking.
Any advice would be much appreciated, i dont have a BRP cable or software to go with it unfortunately.. so im stuck playing with meters, gauges and test lights. Please any advice is appreciated!
